Index Review
Find what your index needs next
Choose index-only checks, manuscript-based assessment or benchmark-based evaluation. Index Review produces findings for editorial decisions; it is separate from your own review of the index.
Index Check: start with the index
Run free checks for structure, page-reference formatting, duplicate entries and broken cross-references without supplying a manuscript. A clean structural check does not establish that entries are supported by the book.
Index Audit: inspect the manuscript evidence
Assess saved Subject Index entries against the approved manuscript analysis. Inspect whether page references lead to useful treatment and whether the complete heading fits the source. Follow linked evidence to investigate findings.
Index Score: evaluate against a benchmark
Use a source-based benchmark to assess coverage and reader access, alongside the reliability of the supplied entries. Read the detailed report and its limitations rather than treating a score as publication approval.
Index Repair: review proposed corrections
Turn supported findings into proposed fixes. Preview changes to heading order, page references, duplicates and ranges before applying a selection or the full proposal.
Choose the work your index needs
Paid manuscript-based and benchmark-based assessment initially support Subject indexes. Free checks and basic fixes apply where qualified for each index type. Select a saved index in your projects to see prerequisites, reusable work and current availability before accepting any paid quote.
